My Approach
I work from an integrative perspective, which means that I do not take a cookie-cutter approach to therapy. My approach is individually tailored in order to meet the needs and circumstances of each client. I work collaboratively with older adolescents, adults, couples, and groups in an effort to create a process that fosters a sense of agency and confidence.
Intention
My intention is to create a safe and trusting environment so that genuine emotions may be expressed and explored, while allowing for challenging ingrained interpersonal patterns. I listen carefully to my clients in an open, empathic, and non-judgmental manner, always with the goal of understanding one's experience.
Common Experiences
Many people experience various times in their lives when they feel unable to decide what they want to do in their future, feel misunderstood by people they are closest to, experience themselves as alone, or struggle to manage a chronic condition. These situations can be extremely frustrating, isolating, and even painful.
Change
Communication with others and interpersonal interactions are central to most frustrations and difficulties. By working collaboratively, I specialize in helping people cope with chronic illness, establish and deepen relationships with others, develop a better understanding of self, and improve overall quality of life.
